The foundation for your Wagsta Wellness transformation.
The countdown to your dog’s transformation has begun. How are you feeling? Nervous, inspired, itching to get started?
Put this energy to great use by completing Prep Steps 1-7.
Remember these steps form the foundation of your dog’s weight loss program so please do not skip them. (If you need any help please reach out through your WAGSTA Facebook Support group).
Introducing your dog to new food.
Step 4 guides you in selecting a calorie restricted, high protein dog food for this program.
It’s important to take time introducing your dog to their new diet food. Ideally food should be switched gradually over the course of several days. We recommend changing food over a 4-day period.
Day 1: 25% new food: 75% old food,
Day 2: 50% new food: 50% old food,
Day 3: 75% new food: 25% old food,
Day 4: 100% new food.
If you have trouble with your dog refusing their new food, please read our tips for food refusal.
In Step 5 you will be provided with your dog’s dieting calorie requirement and daily meal portions. Aim to have your dog eating their portioned diet food in readiness for diet plan activation.
Please read our cheat sheet on How to correctly portion and measure your dog’s meals. Remember, correct portioning is essential for your dog’s successful weight loss journey.
Once all steps are completed, a program activation tab will appear to get your WAGSTA diet plan underway. Activate the diet plan on the day most convenient for you, as this will become your fortnightly weigh-in day.
